Head Instructor/Founder

Founder Sam has over 20 years of martial arts experience, holding a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo and training in Muay Thai Kick-boxing. With 12 years of experience as a professional Personal Trainer, he’s helped clients of all abilities build strength, fitness, and confidence.

Sam created Equal Fitness as a welcoming, community-focused studio in South London. He teaches a mix of classes from Equal Strength Total Body to Equal Pulse of SWEAT & Endure Classes bringing a balance of technical expertise, motivation, and support to every session.

‘I believe fitness is a powerful tool for becoming the best version of yourself — not just physically, but mentally too. I enjoy coaching everyone from complete beginners to experienced gym-goers, adapting sessions to meet you exactly where you’re at.

With a background in professional dance, I place a strong emphasis on technique, movement quality, and control, while also helping you push beyond what you think you’re capable of, safely and confidently.’

Instructor Karina

Karina leads Kickboxing and Muay Thai classes focused on building confidence, strength, and practical skills in a supportive, judgement-free environment. Her sessions are intentionally inclusive, body-positive, and welcoming to all experience levels, with a strong emphasis on respect, safety, and community.

Classes encourage students to train at their own pace while developing fitness, coordination, and resilience through structured drills, partner work, and teamwork. Whether the goal is self-defence, improved fitness, or progressing towards competition, Karina creates a space where everyone feels supported to grow.

Originally from Hong Kong, Karina began her martial arts journey at just four years old and brings over 18 years of training and competition experience across Muay Thai, Taekwondo, K1, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Her coaching style blends technical skill with energy and approachability, tailoring sessions to individual goals while keeping training challenging, empowering, and enjoyable.

Instructor Mimi


Mimi is a dedicated personal trainer and fitness coach specialising in strength training, conditioning, and pre- and post-natal fitness. With a passion for empowering individuals to become stronger, fitter, and happier, Mimi brings a client-centred approach to every training journey.

A seasoned athlete herself, Mimi is also the HYROX Doubles World Champion (2022), an achievement that reflects her commitment to high performance, discipline, and teamwork. Whenever possible, she embraces new fitness challenges, always seeking opportunities to grow and inspire her clients by example.

Her supportive and motivating style helps clients build confidence, develop sustainable habits, and discover what their bodies are truly capable of.

She teaches the Mum’s Strength Club Class for Postnatal Fitness & Strength Training every Monday & Friday at 11am.

Offers 1-2-1 Personal Training Sessions at the studio also.
